Caroline's Novio is OUT! :)

My dear friend, Lori's son, Spencer, is out of PGN!! WAAAAHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Can you tell that we are excited??? We met Spencer and his family back in June in Guatemala and have kept in touch ever since. We always tried to arrange our visits together. I am in Florida right now with Caroline and haven't been checking my email. I logged on and read one of the best emails...SPENCER IS OUT OF PGN!! My heart lept into my throat! We have been praying SO hard for this little guy and now our prayers have been answered! We'll be heading to Miami in the near future for a PERFECT reunion!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!

Pictures From Our First 4th!

We had a pretty low key 4th of July this year. Caroline and I were supposed to leave for Florida the next day, I had a tennis match, and almost all of our neighbors were out of town. To make a long story short, all of our plans changed. It turned out to be a perfect family day! We ate Southern cooking, bought Caroline her very own beach chair, and watched a great fireworks display over our lake. It was SO hot, as you can tell from the sweat pouring from Caroline's hair! We didn't take any pictures of the fireworks, but it was a perfect ending to a perfect day. Caroline loved looking up at them and didn't even flinch from the BOOMS! We live on a lake and I sometimes take it for granted, but it made the perfect backdrop for our 1st 4th! We are so blessed to be able to celebrate it with our little bundle of joy!

My New Walking Shoes

We went to Stride Rite the other week to get Caroline some new walking shoes. I've been reading a ton of research on whether to get them or let her go barefoot...BUT, I think the authors must live in a cooler zone, because it's too stinking hot in Atlanta to go without shoes! She loved the shoe store and trying on shoes! However, the worker came over to measure her foot and she started SCREAMING! It was actually pretty funny! Especially, when a mother told her little boy that he used to do that when he was her age! ;) Caroline loves her shoes and loves looking at them. I'll ask her, "Caroline, where are your pretty shoes?" She immediately looks down at her feet and touches them! SO CUTE!

Tim's Birthday Trip to Charleston, South Carolina

Tim's birthday was on June 12th and we always go for a trip to celebrate. Last year, we were in Guatemala meeting Caroline for the first time. This year, we went to Charleston, South Carolina for a night. It was SO HOT! Poor Caroline...she had never experienced humidity like this before! She was such a trooper! After all of our stays at the Marriott in Guatemala City, we have now been upgraded to gold member status. We stayed in a beautiful hotel overlooking the baseball stadium and marina. We could also see the Citadel from our window. Charleston was a beautiful city with tons of history. We walked around the historic district and visited the markets. We also walked down by the river and let Caroline play in this HUGE pineapple fountain! The water was cool, so she was a little apprehensive about it. Caroline loved us pushing her in the stroller and loved everyone paying attention to her! I think we have a future star on our hands!!!

We also went to a neighboring beach/island (spur of the moment), so we put her in the sand and ocean for the first time. She LOVED it! I wish that I had put a bathing suit on her, but we weren't really prepared to go swimming! :) She loved playing in the water. She didn't want to get out when it was time to go! We definitely have a waterbaby!!! YEA!!

Happy belated birthday, Tim! You are a great daddy and we LOVE you so much! Thanks for taking us to a beautiful city to celebrate your special day!

Quick question...how do I download more than 5 pictures at a time on my blog? I see people with TONS of pictures on one entry and I want to do that!! HELP????

WE ARE OFFICIALLY WALKING!!!

Yep, you heard it right! Caroline is now officially walking. She started on Friday and hasn't stopped. It's so cute! She looks like a little frankenstein walking all over the house. She falls, she gets right back up and goes again. Sometimes, her body moves much faster than her little feet. We're never going to catch a break now!!! :)

It's no longer a dog's world!

This was a funny moment for our little "angel". We were playing on the floor when all of a sudden Caroline looked over and spotted Peanut's bed. Peanut was walking towards her bed when Caroline took a nose dive for the bed. She landed face down in the bed, righted herself up and then looked at Peanut and LAUGHED! Peanut was so depressed that she put her nose down on the floor and just stared up at Caroline. Caroline continued to laugh! I think we may have a little "monster" on our hands!!!
