18 month old check up
We went to our wonderful doctor, Dr. Elaine, for our 18 month old check up on Wednesday. Caroline now weighs in at 26 pounds and 8 ounces and 32 inches long. She is still in the 75-90th percentile for height and weight. I was surprised to see that she really hadn't gained much weight since her 15 month visit. I was glad! :) She's getting so heavy to carry around! We have only had dogs before, so I compare her to lugging around a large bag of dog food! :)
Caroline is now saying "woof, woof" when she hears a dog or sees a dog! It's so cute! I am working on teaching her to show 1 finger for her age when asked. She did it for a few days, but I must have laughed, because now she just shakes her head, smiles and laughs.
I seriously need to stop reading the "What to expect during the 1st year" books because I think her speech development may be delayed. Her doctor keeps telling me that she is fine. But Caroline's not saying as many words as the books says she should be. Dr. Elaine keeps telling me that since she understands everything I say to her (direction wise and even does 2 step directions) that she's just holding back and will do a word explosion. I guess all first time moms deal with these anxieties.

I know what you mean. Isaac isn't talking much either and I guess it goes with being a mom and worrying. I hope they are both talking very soon and we can't get them to hush.LOL
I came to your blog via a yahoo group that we belong to together. Your little gal is so cute!!!! Love those chubby cheeks. I was always a sucker for them. My oldest had them and she would scream when I would try to do the squeeze on them. LOL Anyway, just thought I would stop by and say HI!
