Free Raid at Publix...PLUS Overage!

There is a great deal on Raid Ant/Roach Spray at Publix until the 11th of July. In the Smart Summertime Savings there is a MQ for $2.00/1. In the Yellow Advantage Flyer, there is a PQ for $2.00/1. I haven't price the sprays but I believe you can get an $.11 overage on each one. I plan on buying a few for the pesky bugs we do seem to be getting so I'll let you know what happens.

Don't forget to combine this deal with the Apple & Eve juice for great overage!! Free groceries!

Target Deals This Week

I don't normally shop at Target for a few reasons. The main one is that this is a store that is a blackhole for me. I go in for one thing and walk out with LOTS! Another reason is that I have to limit my stores. I try to only go to two different stores in a week and Target is not on my landing strip (every other store is on the same road my house is on!!) However, I think I may run there this week to take advantage of some of the deals. Check out Stretching a Buck for the complete list of deals and the match-ups and Hot Coupon World for the Target Printable Coupons. Blogger is not cooperating with me on typing up the list. Some things that catch my eye are:

  • Pace Specialty Salsa (Q expires on July4th)
  • Degree Deodorant for Men
  • Vaseline Aloe Fresh
  • Ziploc Evolve Bags (Q expires on July 4th)
  • Dawn Pure Essentials Soap
  • Bare Solo Cups
  • Single Serve Edy's Ice Cream Cups
  • Pepperidge Farm Hamburger Buns

All these deals should be either FREE or less than $1.00! I am especially loving the single serve ice cream cups for Caroline. We are still taking swim lessons and this is my bribing tool!

Free McCormick Grill Mates and Grinders at Kroger!

McCormick Grill Mates and Grinders are on sale at Kroger this week for $1.00 each. I have TONS of grill mates but not many grinders, particularly black peppercorn grinders! There are multiple coupons out there for $1.00/1 or $.50/1 (which doubles), but take advantage of the $1.00/1 in the new "nothing goes to waist" book found at Publix. ENJOY!

(not sure why it's sideways???)

Free or Possible Overage on Apple and Eve Organic Juice

"Apple and Eve 4 packs of juice boxes are priced at $1.39 at Publix. Use the $1/1 Publix coupon from the Smart Summertime Savings booklet, plus the Manufacturer coupon from the current Greenwise Magazine or from the 4/5 SS insert, and get these for FREE or better! The 8 packs would also end up being free or cheap with both coupons!"
Thanks Thrifty Mama!
This is a great deal on FREE Organic juice! It also comes at a great time because I am getting super low on my juice for Caroline. I don't allow her to drink straight juice (90% water, 10% juice), so this will last me a long time!! Not to mention the overage this will give me towards other grocery items!!!

New Coupon Books at Publix

I found some new coupon books at Publix yesterday and today. They each have some great coupons in them and will come in handy when a sale hits. For coupon information go to I Love Publix. Kelly did a great job with her descriptions!! This coupon book has been extremely frustrating to find for most couponers. Good luck finding them. Unfortunately, there are few, if any, left in my area. :(

Always Infinity Pads at CVS...GREAT deal!

Always Infinity Pads are ringing up at $4.99 at CVS (with your card). They are regularly $10.29 at my store. This is already a great deal, but even better....Use the $4.00 Q from the June P&G insert and get them for $.99 each! Be sure to scan them first though (just in case). I bought two packs last night.
Thanks Mercedes!

Tiki Hut Umbrella- FREE at Rite Aid!

"Isn’t this cute???
If you hurry, you can score one of these adorable 6-ft. Hula Umbrella’s for FREE at Rite Aid through Tuesday, 6/23.
The Hula Umbrella is regularly $39.99 and has just been marked down to $29.99.
Use the $5/$25 Rite Aid printable along with this $25 off Hula Umbrella printable to snag yours at no cost."
We were down to one car this morning, so I wasn't able to go until around 5:00. I was so bummed when I saw another lady walk out of the store with hers when we pulled up. I blamed Tim (even though there was no reason...my car was getting new brake shoes) :) But, I quickly ran and snagged the last one. It is so cute! I can't wait to use it at the beach or overlooking Caroline's Redneck Pool!
Total OOP: $.34

Monday Publix Shopping Trip

In the paper yesterday, our area received a $2.00 Starbucks Ice Cream coupon. At Publix, they are on sale BOGO (meaning $1.80 and $1.79 each). What does this mean?? OVERAGE!!! I have several coupons and some "minor difficulty" with extra coupons, so I decided to try out a new Publix store. Loved the store, but hated my math errors!! I used a Competitor Coupon and wasn't sure if they would allow overage on the Revlon and the Vitamins, so I threw in the 2 half & half's and I could have added a canteloupe. Had I thrown in the canteloupe, my total OOP would have been cheaper. This week's sale at Publix will be going on until Wednesday or Thursday (depending on your area).

Transaction #1:
1- milk- $2.25
2- Half & Half- $1.59 each
2- Mexicorn- 87 cents each
10- Starbucks Ice Cream- $1.79 each - (10) $2.00 MQ
1- Publix Vanilla Wafers- $.01 (penny item)
3- Revlon Nail Clippers- $1.49 each - (3) $2.00 PQ- (2) $1.00 MQ
Grapes- $1.72
Bananas- $.57
Garlic- $.30
Cilantro- $.79
2- Yellow Onions- $.45
1- Dozen Eggs- $1.19
4- Sundown Vitamins - $2.99-$3.29 - (2)$6.00/2 PQ (4) $1.00 MQ

My Walgreen's Shopping List and Huggies Little Swimmers

I have been asked to post my shopping lists for several weeks. I came across this deal this morning while flipping through the paper. It is not an "advertised" sale on the money blogs, but it is a good deal for me. Huggies Little Swimmers are on sale this week at Walgreen's for $6.99. In the 4/19 Smart Source (SS) insert, there was a $3.00/1 Q. So now it's a good deal. BUT...there is an even better deal to be had. Aquafresh toothpaste is $3.00. It is printing out a Register Reward (RR) for $3.00. You now get a free tube of toothpaste. In order to combine these deals into super deals for me, I will do the following:
Transaction #1:
1- Aquafresh Toothpaste- $3.00
Use: (1) printable coupon $1.00/1
Receive $3.00 RR
Transaction #2:
1- Huggies Little Swimmers- $6.99
1- Small filler item (piece of candy, etc..)
Use: (1) $3.00 Q
(1) $3.00 RR
I will now have paid around $4 for swim diapers and a tube of toothpaste. For my family, this is a great deal. We are getting low on toothpaste and Caroline is still in swim lessons, therefore going through a minimum of 5 swim diapers a week.
I hope this has helped some of my readers in some way...BUT....I am offering up some of the Huggies Little Swimmers Coupons to the first 5 readers that either email or leave me a comment expressing interest in using them. I will mail them out and you will get them before the sale is over. Happy swimming and brushing!

Swim Lessons Part 1

She is patiently waiting on her turn to swim!
She is getting ready to dive down to get her toys off the bottom.
On her way up from the bottom. She can hold her breath forever!
Getting ready to swim to the side of the pool.
Yay! She made it and is now getting her blocks!

Caroline is now at the second week of swim lessons. She just loves the water and is doing so great! I will post some more pictures of her later this weekend because I need to get them off of my sister's camera. These were taken on Wednesday morning. I normally am in the pool with her, but I raced home from a tennis match in order to get her to lessons. I didn't have time to change so I sat on the side. She is now diving down around 4 1/2 feet to get her blocks/toys off the bottom, swimming (working on kicking) under water to me, and swimming to the side of the pool and pulling herself up. Her instructor is also working on her back float and after swimming to a person, rolling over to her back to 'catch' a breath. Today, she will be jumping off the diving board and swimming to the side of the pool. Don't worry, one of her instructors will be there to 'catch her'. We have one more week and I am already contemplating keeping her in for the rest of the summer. Seriously, if you live in the area, you MUST sign up at The Swim Center. I wasn't sure what to expect and it takes a lot to impress me (I grew up in water all my life) and these people ROCK! You get 30 minutes of lessons for $46/week (5 days). We have even been lucky enough to get 2 private lessons because the other kids didn't show up. :)

Free Toilet Paper at Kroger! UPDATED!!!

Updated: After a closer look at the coupon...it's for a 6 roll or larger. :( I'm not sure if the coupon will work because of the sku numbers. If you try it, let me know how it worked for you. I plan on going to Kroger tonight, so I'll try out a few and report back.

Angel Soft 4 pack toilet paper is on sale this week at Kroger for $1.00. I noticed that in this upcoming week's paper, there will be a 50 cent Q (doubles at Kroger). FREE toilet paper! I plan on going to get a Raincheck today (my Kroger is almost always out of this) and take advantage of more free tp!

Publix Shop and No more RR's

I went to Publix yesterday to finish up spending the last of my Walgreen's Register Rewards. I had $30 to spend and it had to be broken into 3 transactions. I was not impressed with this week's sale, so this allowed me to spend my "money" on things that aren't normally on sale such as produce and beans. I also got a tip from favorite Publix Blog on the Sundown Vitamins. I purchased MQ off of Ebay and combined them with the PQ for overage. I was prepared to buy more, but they only had 2 bottles at a good price. I will be visiting other Publix stores in the area to take advantage of the overage. Overall, I feel like I had a decent shop, but definitely not my best. BTW...if you have never tried the MorningStar Farm items, now's a great time to try them. They are 100% vegetarian and Caroline loves them! I am a true meat eater, but these are GREAT! Take advantage of the Internet Printables and the Target coupons (they expire on Saturday).

Is the week over yet??

What a whirlwind of a week we are having! Blogging will have to be put on a short break because of our hectic schedule. Caroline is in her second week of swim lessons and is doing GREAT! She is diving down and getting blocks off the bottom of the pool and swimming to the side of the pool and pulling herself up. I highly suggest anyone in the area go to The Swim Center for lessons. They are amazing!

Tim and I have been playing a ton of tennis. We are both on a mixed doubles team, a USTA team, and we are both playing two singles leagues. We are having regular tennis matches and we also made it to the playoffs of one of our leagues.

My weekly shopping trip will be put on hold a few days. To be honest, I am not impressed with the sales at Publix or Kroger this week. I still have $40 in RR from Walgreens to spend at Publix, so I'll post my shopping trip tomorrow. I have had two emails requesting for me to post my lists and some tips, so I'll start posting my lists next week. I had several trips to Kroger and Publix last week, but didn't take pictures because I was too exhausted from the planning. I think the mass amounts of RR was a blessing but also a curse. It took tons of time to plan out my shopping trips.

My garden is looking GREAT! We are enjoying fresh squash almost every day and we are looking forward to our tomatoes coming in soon. One of my stakes broke, so I rigged the vines up to keep them off the ground. I have to make a quick trip to Lowe's to purchase some new stakes. I went on Sunday and the worker (who was NOT helpful) talked me into purchasing tomato trellis'. They did NOT work, so Tim took them back today but forgot to pick up the stakes. So, tomorrow, Caroline and I head to Lowe's (after a morning tennis match and swim lessons).

One Year Ago...

Exactly one year ago, Caroline was squeezed into this tiny pink polka dot bikini! Look at how big the bow is in her hair! I also love her farmer's tan!!

New Shoes

I can run super fast in my new shoes!
Check out my sparkles!!
I am playing catch up on some of my pictures. Caroline and I went to Nordstroms a few weeks ago to check out their super shoe sale. We were there the week before and Caroline fell in love with these shoes. Aren't they super cute? They WERE NOT on sale and I honestly about choked on the price. We went back the next week in hopes of these shoes being on sale. Caroline immediately spotted them, grabbed them and ran off with them. She WANTED them! After checking the price, we came home with them! :) She LOVES her new Lelli Kelly shoes so much that I ordered another pair for her too!

New Toys

Caroline got some new toys last week from my sister. My sister was going through her attic and cleaning out my niece's old toys (she's now 12). Oh, boy! Did Caroline ever rack up!! Caroline loves her new dollhouse and little pet shop toys. Secretly, I do too! She will now play in her room for at least 30 minutes without interruption!! The first night she got them, she wouldn't sleep. She woke up extra early and immediately wanted down on the carpet to play with her toys.

Kroger Organic Shopping Trip

As I posted earlier, Santa Cruz Organic Lemonade is on sale at Kroger for $1.25. After the 75 cent coupon, final price is 50 cents. I went to get the yummy drinks but then came across some other fab deals.
4- Garden of Eatin Organic Tortilla Chips- $1.50 each (was $5.49)
4- Muir Glen Organic Salsa- $1.00 each
3- Green Mountain Organic Salsa- $1.00 each

I was so excited about these great deals! I have a desire to eat Organic, but I haven't made the financial commitment yet. But, with these great prices, who would want to eat the "other"?

Santa Cruz Organic Lemonade...Awesome deal!

Kroger has Santa Cruz Organic Drinks on sale for 8/$10, or $1.25 each! This is a great deal, but to make this deal even better, use the 75 cent coupon in the "Go Organic" book and each one will be 50 cents each! My friend Tutti turned me on to her favorite lemonade and it is yummy! If you are like me and on the fence about going completely Organic (mainly because of the cost), this is a GREAT way to get started. You will not find many (Organic or not) beverages cheaper than this!! STOCK UP!!!! Also, you can use it to make her Iced Green Tea Lemonade..YUMMY!!!

Super Duper Savings at Publix

My mom and I went to Publix tonight to take advantage of the the last of this week's sales and to use some of the Register Rewards from Walgreens. This trip required quite the strategizing because she had a Rain Check for Dixie Paper Plates. What we had not realized was that the paper plates were producing 50 cents overage on each one because of the Target Coupon. WOW! I also had a major coupon to produce overage on the Kellogg's waffles, the Purina Dog Food produced overage, as did the mustard. However, by shopping on Wednesday night, most of the items that I really wanted (Spray 'n Wash) were gone. So, I had to get Rain Checks for the mustard (produces overage) and the Spray 'n Wash. The random beans were packaged in groups to help absorb the extra coupons from Target and Walgreens.
The weird thing about the trip was that I ended up in the negatives! My mom noticed that Wednesday was Senior Citizen day and recieved 5% off her total. The cashier took that % off and we ended up at -$2.82. She was dumbfounded, as was the customer service staff. She wanted to pay me the difference, but I knew it wasn't correct. I volunteered to pay for the guy's two small items behind us, so it would come out in the positive.
OOP: $1.94
Total Saved: $200
Another awesome trip with free sunscreen and steaks! Thanks again Walgreens!

The Fruits of My Labor

This is my garden in the backyard.

My beautiful squash growing quite nicely!

I'm simply amazed that the flowers turn into vegetables!

So far, this is my prized beauty!

Yummy! My tomatoes are looking awesome!

I'm so excited that my garden is looking spectacular! My tomatoes coming in and some are almost ready to be picked. My squash is looking awesome and I'm already researching different recipes to use with it. I even cut my first prized beauty tonight! Caroline loves helping me water the vegetables and she loves bending down and pointing out all the new ones. I hope she will have a love for gardening and vegetables one day. :)

Thank You WALGREENS!!

I was so excited about this week's sale at Walgreens that I couldn't sleep Saturday night. I woke up and was at the 24 hour Wags Store at 5:30 to purchase the Breeze2 glucose monitors. They were FREE but they were spitting out $10 Register Rewards! The Ecotrin (aspirin) was also free and were spitting out $2.00 RR.

I went to 4 different Walgreens and brought home:
11- Ecotrin- $2.00-$2.00 MQ= FREE plus $2.00 RR each
2- Dentek flossers- $2.99 BOGO- (2) $1.00 MQ= 45 cents each
1- Bic Soleil Razor Set- $4.99- $3.00 MQ=$1.99 plus $1.00 RR
